Lionel's Chesapeake and Ohio H-7 Steamer

Announced and displayed at this past October's York TCA show, the Lionel H-7 in C&O and UP are the Joshua Lionel Cowen series offering for 2003. We were over at the Lionel booth looking for a Virginian 2-8-8-2 as several of the dealers were blowing them out - I wanted to see what it looked like one more time before buying one. Needless to say, once we saw the H-7 - I forgot all about the Virginian!

This unit features the latest Lionel Railsounds release, and also has a fabulously detailed Vanderbilt tender. The tooling for this tender must have been expensive - so I'm hoping that Lionel uses it again for another release in 2004.

We picked up our H-7 when they shipped earlier this month, and then unboxed it on Christmas day. It relieved the C&O's 2-10-4 Texan, and ran away with a long string of Atlas C&O hoppers, including the new war emergency rebuilt's that also recently arrived.

One great moment was the blow past of the EM-1 and the H-7 I was lucky enough to get on film - please enjoy these pictures and thanks for looking!
